Sometimes this backpacking trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. With its 7.4 miles of walking distance it's a mid length backcountry trek. This is a long backpacking trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. The time needed for this backcountry trek is roughly 6.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. The total elevation difference for Lanyan Trail is 783 feet, and that is lower than average. There's not much difference in elevation along Lanyan Trail, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole backpacking trail.
