And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. This great outdoors hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 2,759 feet which is a higher than average number. Some parts of Kings River Trail are much higher up than other parts of the backcountry hiking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backcountry hiking trail. This  
is a hiking and backpacking trail that is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. The warmest time of the year at Kings River Trail arrives with high temperatures in the 90's while nighttime lows are usually in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's while Kings River Trail nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's. The length of this hiking trail is on the longer side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this backcountry trail good for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. This backcountry hike should take you about 2 days, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. The number of backcountry trails in this neighborhood is not very high. At Kings River Trail you don’t see much rain; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is June.

Briefly about the general area:
If you're here, you might as well have a look at Contact Pass; you can stay the night at First Falls Campground. Yeah, come up here to the Central Sierra Nevada for a nice time. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Grouse Spring, and some of the water nearby flows, like Cow Creek.
A pleasant tour to Coyote Flat is a fine way to spend an afternoon; swing by North Fork Big Pine Creek it's a nice location to stop by. And if that's not sufficient, there's a heap more to do in close proximity to Kings River Trail. Sanger Meadow is a pleasant location to stretch your legs a bit, and Second Falls is an inspiring place to go to while here. Paddling on Kings River - Middle Fork is so much fun, and Kings River Trail is a nice site to visit for more than one day, Second Falls Campground is a nice site to camp nearby.
Be careful coming to the Central Sierra Nevada, you might not ever wanna go home again.
