The winter comes with highs in the 60's while the cold winter nights at Jackson Trail are in the 30's. Some parts of this hiking trail are much higher up than other parts of the hiking trail, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. hiking and backpacking trail for experienced backcountry walkers in splendid shape. It is very dry here at Jackson Trail mostly; the wettest month of the year is mostly February, that's the one that rains the most, and July is when it's the driest. Jackson Trail has only one trailhead,
so you'll be backpacking it in and back out. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 3,327 feet which is higher than average. Now this trail is pretty long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. This trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire
restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The time needed for this backcountry trek is roughly 6.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping.

a visit to Jackson Spring, and Jackson Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Painted Rock Campground is a great local campground. A nice location to camp here at Jackson Trail is McPherson Campground. And if that's not enough there's a lot more entertaining stuff
to do in the Sierra Madre. Montgomery Potrero is a beautiful spot any time of year, and at Jackson Trail you always meet someone from Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta.
