There is only one trailhead, so you'll be backcountry hiking it in and back out. Being 36.2 miles long; it's longer than many great outdoors hiking trails. The total elevation difference for this trail is 3,358 feet which is higher than average. This region does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Of course, this is an overnight hike, 5.5 days normally, so better have big a backpack to fit all the stuff you need. This is a backcountry hiking trail that is quite long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Different parts of Hurricane Deck Trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations.
