falls during January, and July is when it's the driest. Humbug Trail is 4 miles long it's a mid length backcountry hike. When you're here in California trekking along one of its backcountry trails is something that is always fun to do. You'll have to go far from Truckee-Grass Valley
to get to Humbug Trail, but it is a really tremendous backpacking trail. Humbug Trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be backcountry backpacking it in and back out. Backpacking and hiking trails like this one here in the Northern Sierra Nevada are the best way to enjoy these
mountains. This hiking trail is not that long but it's always good to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. You spend the whole backcountry hike in roughly the same elevation zone, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole hiking trail.

about the general area: Get your pulse rate up on the glorious whitewater of Yuba River - South Fork. Yep, outdoors fun things truly is abundant here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You're sure to run into some friendly people from Truckee-Grass Valley here, and Pan Ravine is
in the vicinity, and is a nice place. This is a really good river. A wonderful site to camp here at Humbug Trail is South Yuba Primitive Campground, and a splendid place for whitewater paddling is Yuba River - Middle Fork. Some nearby water includes Humbug Creek, and camping is available at Shonter Hill Campground.
