California hiking trails - Highgrade Trail, Warner Mountains, Modoc County

Hitting the backcountry trails is always a cool thing to do, and Highgrade Trail in Modoc County, California is such a magnificent location. Backcountry hiking here in California is always a fun thing to do. Now this backpacking trail is pretty long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Highgrade Trail is 12 miles long; it's a long trail. The total elevation difference for Highgrade Trail is 3,371 feet which is a higher than average number. Because Highgrade
    Trail is very isolated from civilization, when you walk it you're always having a magnificent time. Highgrade Trail is a very long backpacking and hiking trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this backcountry hiking trail fine for hard core backpackers looking
for adventure. This trek should take you about 1.5 days, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. There are so many delightful great outdoors trails for trekking in California, and among these are Highgrade Trail in Modoc County. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. This backpacking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Great outdoors trails like this one here in the Warner Mountains are the best way to  
enjoy these mountaintops. Highgrade Trail is a two ended hiking and backpacking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. High temperatures at Highgrade Trail through the long summer days are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's; overnight lows through the wintertime for Highgrade Trail tend to be in the 10's. Highgrade Trail is generally a reasonably dry location; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow while July is generally the driest month. There are not too many backcountry hiking trails in this region. This trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the trail could be very different from other parts of it. With so many outdoors pursuits available in California you'll never get bored.

Briefly about the general area:
So many cool things to do here in the Warner Mountains, too delightful to be true. There's some flowing water nearby, South Fork Cottonwood Creek is a stream you can explore during your stay; since you're here at Highgrade Trail it's a good idea to go to North Star Basin. There's so much to do here at Highgrade Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Cave Lake Campground is a great site for that; a short journey to Mineral Spring is always worthwhile.
North Fork Cottonwood Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth taking a look at; Highgrade Spring is a pretty location to explore while you're at Highgrade Trail. That right there is a load already, but it carries on; Highgrade Trail has it all. A pleasant tour to O'Connors Flat is a great way to spend an afternoon. If you came to camp Larry Flat Campground is a magnificent site to do that, and while you're here why not stop at Coalpit Canyon.
