This hiking trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out backcountry trek. Different parts of High Sierra Trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backpacking and hiking trail. Sometimes this great outdoors hiking trail gets really dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. High Sierra Trail is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies.
