California hiking trails - Hi Mountain Trail, Santa Lucia Range, San Luis Obispo County

   
  Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Hi Mountain Trail in San Luis Obispo County, California is a really great location to spend some time. Backcountry hiking in California is such a great thing to do. Backcountry trails for backpacking, and backpacking can be found all over California, and one of those is Hi Mountain Trail in San Luis Obispo County. Sometimes this great outdoors hiking trail gets really dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you
    head out. Hi Mountain Trail gets a typical amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is January while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. For the duration of the summertime at Hi Mountain Trail highs are generally in the 70's. Summer overnight lows plunge
down to the 50's. For the period of the winter this spot gets highs in the 60's while Hi Mountain Trail overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 40's. Hi Mountain Trail is a long trip away from San Luis Obispo-Paso Robles, but it's one of those locations where backcountry hiking is great. Hi Mountain Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole great outdoors hiking trail. This backpacking and hiking trail is a normal length backpacking and hiking trail with an average  
amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough backpacking and hiking trail for advanced backcountry trekkers looking for a good challenge. This is one of a very small number of backpacking and hiking trails in this neighborhood. The beautiful backpacking and hiking trails of the Santa Lucia Range are a great way to explore these summits. The total elevation difference for this hiking trail is 1,419 feet which is about average. Every backcountry trail in California is beautiful in its own way. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can trek it just one way. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in site. If you happen to be in California, why not go backpacking, it is something that is always fun to do. With its 7.4 miles of walking distance it's an average length great outdoors hiking trail. This trek shouldn't take more than 6.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Hi Mountain Trail is quite long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip.

Huffs Hole is a splendid place here at Hi Mountain Trail, and McNeil Spring is a wonderful place to stop by while you're at Hi Mountain Trail. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Santa Lucia Range. Hi Mountain Trail is a magnificent place to visit for more than one day, Hi Mountain Campground is a magnificent place to camp nearby, and you might also want to pay a visit to Hi Valley while you're here at Hi Mountain Trail.
Visit Pozo Creek since you're here at Hi Mountain Trail, and Hi Mountain Spring is a tremendous local attraction. Saucelito Creek is a lovely stream that is worth taking a look at, and there are plenty of folks from San Luis Obispo-Paso Robles here. Hi Mountain Trail truly is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise. Stay the night at Bald of Gilead Campground; Horse Mesa is right here at Hi Mountain Trail.
