This backcountry trek shouldn't take more than 4 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Being 4.8 miles long it's an average length trail. Grey Trail is a two ended backcountry hiking trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry walk it just one way. This area does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Grey Trail goes through some very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations.
