is frequently December, that's the one that rains the most; July meanwhile is the driest month. Different parts of French Hill Trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the great outdoors
trail. Backcountry trekking here in the Coast Ranges is a very delightful way to see these mountains. Through the months of summer at French Hill Trail temperatures are commonly in the 60's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. The wintertime
comes with highs in the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 40's for French Hill Trail. This great outdoors hiking trail is not that long but it's always perfect to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. You should count on this walk taking about 4 hours,
but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster.
Briefly about the general area: In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Smith River - North Fork, and French Hill Trail is in close proximity to French Gulch which
is certainly worth a visit. Smith River - Middle Fork has a great whitewater paddling spot close by; why not take a little spree to Middle Fork Smith River since you're here. Lots of people from Crescent City North come to French Hill Trail, and North Fork Smith River is near
French Hill Trail and is always a delight to have a look at. This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Camping is available at Shelly Creek Campground, and the sights at Redwood National and State Parks will blow your mind. So many entertaining things to do
in the Coast Ranges, not enough time. A visit to French Flat revives the soul; a brilliant place to camp here at French Hill Trail is Hiouchi Hamlet RV Resort. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Coast Ranges. Pappas Flat is right here at French Hill Trail.
