has a total elevation difference of 235 feet which is a lower than average number. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. At parts of the year this area sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan
to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This is not a very long hiking trail but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. Foothill Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you won’t have to worry about different climate
zones along your backcountry hike.
Briefly about the general area: All the outdoors exciting things in the Coast Ranges will keep you coming back many times. Boyes Creek is a good site to go to; time spent at Gold Bluffs Beach is always glorious. Foothill Trail is
a splendid spot to camp, Klamath Glen Resort is a splendid spot, and this is a popular place for people from Crescent City North. Brown Creek is a great local stream. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Foothill Trail has to offer, you can camp at Blackberry Patch RV Park.
