The time needed for this backcountry trek is roughly 2 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. The gorgeous trails of the Northern Sierra Nevada are a very good way to see these mountaintops. Emigrant Trail has two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can walk it just one way. falling down from the sky makes Emigrant Trail a wet site; January is the month that gets the most snow, and the driest month of the year is July. With its 2.4 miles of walking distance it's a short backcountry trail. Even though this is not a very long backcountry hiking trail
you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. The total elevation difference for Emigrant Trail is 463 feet which is lower than average. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in location. The number of backcountry trails
in this area is not very high. There's not much difference in elevation along the backcountry trail, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole backcountry trail. A long drive divides Phoenix Lake-Cedar Ridge from Emigrant Trail, but backcountry trekking is such
an enjoyable thing to do, and this is an excellent spot to do that.
Briefly about the general area: Paddling on Mokelumne River - North Fork is so much fun. These mountains rock, just check out all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Emigrant Trail
is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Alpine Campground is a pleasant local campground, and Emigrant Trail is right next door to Poison Canyon which is unquestionably worth a visit. If you came to camp Overflow Campground is a great place to do that, and you must positively dedicate some time to Rose Meadow since you're here at Emigrant Trail.
