California hiking trails - Elk Camp Ridge Trail, Coast Ranges, Del Norte County

Summer at Elk Camp Ridge Trail comes with high temperatures in the 60's while overnight lows are mostly  
in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's with winter lows in the 40's overnight here at Elk Camp Ridge Trail. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so backcountry trekking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Now, this is roughly a 2.5-day backcountry hike, so it's an excellent thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. There are numerous backpacking and hiking trails in California, and each one has something unique to offer. Sometimes this hiking trail gets really dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. The total elevation difference for Elk Camp Ridge Trail is 2,616 feet which is higher than average. Trekking here in the Coast Ranges is the best way to enjoy these hills. Now this hiking trail is pretty long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies.

This place, the Coast Ranges, has so much outdoors cool stuff. If you come at the right time of year, Smith River - North Fork offers some tremendous whitewater, and there's a forest here called Siskiyou National Forest. All the outdoors amusing stuff in the vicinity of Elk Camp Ridge Trail will keep you coming back again and again. Camping at Shelly Creek Campground is always a tremendous experience, and Baker Flat is right here at Elk Camp Ridge Trail.
If you're here at Elk Camp Ridge Trail, you could go to Boulder Creek, and there are plenty of folks from Crescent City North here at Elk Camp Ridge Trail. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Smith River - Middle Fork, and the sights at Redwood National and State Parks will blow your mind. Dead Horse Gulch is in the vicinity of Elk Camp Ridge Trail and is a great site; a journey to Cold Spring will fill your spirit with great feelings.
