The total elevation difference for Elephant Seal Cove Trail is 416 feet, and that is lower than average. Elephant Seal Cove Trail is 3 miles long it's a shorter type trek. This backcountry hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Even though this is not a very long backcountry hiking trail it's always perfect to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. You should count on this backcountry walk taking about 2.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. There's not much difference in elevation along the hiking and backpacking trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. There is only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out backcountry walk.
