California hiking trails - Eagle Peak Trail, Central Sierra Nevada, Mariposa County

    the most rain here while July is frequently the driest month. For the period of the summertime, highs mostly are in the 80's at Eagle Peak Trail while night lows are regularly in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's; during the dark hours in the winter
at Eagle Peak Trail temperatures drop to the 20's. Wilderness trails are great and plentiful in California, and Eagle Peak Trail is one of them, and it's in Mariposa County. Here in California hiking is so much fun. Every single California great outdoors trail is different from the others. The length of Eagle Peak Trail is on the longer side having an average number of uphill miles which makes this great outdoors trail nice for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Wilderness hiking trails like this one here in the Central Sierra Nevada are a really  
great way to spend quality time in the fresh air. Eagle Peak Trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to backcountry hike it normally. Some parts of this great outdoors hiking trail are much higher up than other parts of the great outdoors hiking trail, and that means that some parts of the great outdoors hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. Being 9.4 miles long; it's longer than many great outdoors hiking trails. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in spot. Keep in mind that this is a long hiking and backpacking trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. This backcountry trek shouldn't take more than 8 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. This area does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire.

A nice place to camp here at Eagle Peak Trail is Lower River Campground, and do set aside some time for Leidig Meadow since you're here at Eagle Peak Trail. Now, you may imagine that's lots but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Yosemite National Park is a perfect place right next door to Eagle Peak Trail; don’t forget to explore Eagle Peak Meadows since you're here at Eagle Peak Trail.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. A visit to Eagle Peak Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Yosemite Falls, and if you come at the right time of year, Yosemite Creek offers some brilliant whitewater. A short spree to Upper Yosemite Falls is always worthwhile, and why not camp at Upper River Campground while you're here at Eagle Peak Trail.
There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Merced River; there's some flowing water close by, Eagle Peak Creek is a stream you can visit during your stay. Bluejay Creek is near Eagle Peak Trail and is always a joy to stop at, and Indian Canyon is also a good spot to explore.
