Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This backcountry hike shouldn't take more than 8 hours, but  
of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This great outdoors hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The total elevation difference for this backpacking trail is 3,939 feet which is a higher than average number. Backcountry trekking here in the Central Sierra Nevada is the best way to enjoy these summits. Some parts of this great outdoors trail are much higher up than other parts of the great outdoors trail, and that means that some parts of the great outdoors trail could be very different from other parts of it. Eagle Peak Trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a fine hiking trail for experienced walkers in fine shape. This is a one trailhead backpacking trail, so you'll be hiking it in and back out.

There's some flowing water close by, Eagle Peak Creek is a stream you can stop at while here, and Leidig Meadow is a splendid place here at Eagle Peak Trail. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! The Central Sierra Nevada is peerless! Whitewater paddling is delightful on Merced River; Upper River Campground is a good campground nearby.
Don't miss out on a trip to Yosemite National Park while you're here at Eagle Peak Trail, and Bluejay Creek is in close proximity to Eagle Peak Trail and is always a joy to pop by. Yosemite Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and you might also want to pay a visit to Indian Canyon if you're here at Eagle Peak Trail.
A spree to Eagle Peak Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Yosemite Falls; everybody loves Eagle Peak Meadows. Now, you may think that's lots but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. A short tour to Upper Yosemite Falls is always worthwhile, and if you came for an overnight stay Lower River Campground is a fine location to camp.
