| | Trail is 1 miles long it's a shorter type backcountry walk. During the summer months, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at Discovery Trail while overnight lows are commonly in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Discovery Trail fall into the 20's. Devils Postpile National Monument is recommended. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Discovery Trail has to offer, you can camp at Juniper Campground. So many enjoyable things to do in the White Mountains, not enough time. Reed Flat is a delightful place any time of year, and you can stay the night at Grandview Campground.
