There are so many delightful wilderness hiking trails for trekking in California, and Discovery Trail in Inyo County is one of them. It is very dry here at Discovery Trail commonly; during the month of January you get the most rain around here; October on the other hand is the driest. You should count on this trek taking about 1 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. At Discovery Trail throughout the summer highs are in the 90's. All through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. High  
temperatures during the winter are normally in the 50's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Discovery Trail plunge into the 20's. At parts of the year this vicinity sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Hiking here in the White Mountains is a splendid way to explore these mountains. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. Being 1 miles long it's shorter than many great outdoors hiking trails. Even though this is not a very long backcountry trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. This is one of a very small number of backcountry trails in this vicinity. If you are in California during backcountry trekking season you have to go backcountry trekking.

Briefly about the general area:
There's so much to do here at Discovery Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Grandview Campground is a delightful spot for that, and Devils Postpile National Monument is a very tremendous place to take a look at. This place, the White Mountains, has so much outdoors cool things. Discovery Trail is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Juniper Campground is a splendid local campground, and a wooded vicinity close by is Schulman Grove.
This river is so great. Reed Flat is a stunning location any time of year.
