California hiking trails - Discovery Trail, White Mountains, Inyo County

   
  Backcountry hiking trails for backcountry trekking, and backpacking can be found all over California; one of those is Discovery Trail in Inyo County. There are numerous backcountry trails in California, and each one has its own character. Discovery Trail is located a relatively lengthy drive from Bishop, but it is a nice hiking trail. California is an excellent site for outdoors folks. The wilderness hiking trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your walk. This
    backpacking trail is not that long but it's always pleasant to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Discovery Trail gets very little rain; through the month of January you get the most rain around
here, and the driest month is October. At Discovery Trail through the long summer days highs are in the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 50's with temperatures at Discovery Trail dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. You should count on this hike taking about 1 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. The total elevation difference for this backcountry hiking trail is 457 feet which is lower than average. This area does  
get very dry sometimes, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Discovery Trail is 1 miles long it's a short wilderness hiking trail. This is one of a very small number of hiking trails in this area. Gotta get out of the city man, and Discovery Trail in Inyo County, California is a nice place to go. Discovery Trail is a very short trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this hiking trail great for the average trekker looking for an amusing adventure. Backcountry hiking in California is a wonderful idea. Backcountry hiking here in the White Mountains is the best way to enjoy these peaks.

Briefly about the general area:
The trees of Schulman Grove are a perfect source of shade on hot summer days, and Reed Flat is right here at Discovery Trail. If you came to camp Juniper Campground is a splendid location to do that.
This place, the White Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining things. There's so much to do here at Discovery Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Grandview Campground is a wonderful place for that, and if you haven’t been to Devils Postpile National Monument, you should schedule some time for it while you're here.
