California hiking trails - Devil Canyon Trail, Sierra Madre, Los Angeles County

We all need to get out in the wilderness once in a while, and Devil Canyon Trail in Los Angeles County, California is just what you need. Backpacking trails are good and plentiful in California; one of them being Devil Canyon Trail in Los Angeles County. Devil Canyon Trail is a long tour away from Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura, but it sure is a a nice hiking trail. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. This hiking and
    backpacking trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a magnificent hiking and backpacking trail for experienced backcountry trekkers in brilliant shape. This is a long backcountry hiking trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole
trip. Backpacking here in California is a must. Each hiking trail in California has its own character. Devil Canyon Trail has a total elevation difference of 2,574 feet which is a higher than average number. Backpacking here in the Sierra Madre is a glorious way to explore these highlands. For the duration of the summer months at Devil Canyon Trail temperatures are usually in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. Throughout the winter the highs are typically in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Devil  
Canyon Trail temperatures drop to the 30's. Around Devil Canyon Trail you don’t get a lot of precipitation; February is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is July. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. Being 17.6 miles long; it's longer than many trails. This wilderness hiking trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out backcountry hike. Of course, this is an overnight backcountry trek, 2.5 days normally, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. This is a neighborhood covered with lots of hiking and backpacking trails. Some parts of Devil Canyon Trail are much higher up than other parts of the trail, and that means that some parts of the trail could be very different from other parts of it.

Briefly about the general area:
You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Sierra Madre. Camping at Lake Piru is always a perfect experience; if you came to camp Blue Point Campground is a fine location to do that. This location is peerless, just look at all the fun stuff to do near Devil Canyon Trail. A pleasant journey to Big Oak Flat is a nice way to spend an afternoon, and a glorious site to check out close by is Violin Summit.
Paddling on Piru Creek is so much fun, and Oak Flat Spring is a great local attraction. That right there is a heap of fun stuff already but it goes on, the Sierra Madre has it all. Michael Creek is a striking stream that is worth checking out, and a visit to close by Spanish Point is very relaxing. Take a side trip to Agua Blanca Creek, and Oak Flats is a great spot to stretch your legs a bit.
Piru Creek has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby, and do put some time aside to spend at Fisher Spring while you're here at Devil Canyon Trail.
