Keep in mind that this is a long backcountry trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. The total elevation difference for Devil Canyon Trail is 2,574 feet which is a higher than average number. Some parts of this backpacking trail are much higher up than other parts of the backpacking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions  
on different parts of the backpacking trail. With its 17.6 miles of walking distance; it's considered a longer walk. Each one of the many backcountry trails of California is worth backcountry trekking. There are so many magnificent backcountry trails for backcountry trekking in California, and among these are Devil Canyon Trail in Los Angeles County. At Devil Canyon Trail you don’t see much rain; of all the months in a year February is the one with the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. These hiking trails here in the Sierra Madre are a perfect way to explore these peaks. Summertime highs at Devil Canyon Trail usually tend to be in the 80's. Summer night lows fall down to the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Devil Canyon Trail are in the 30's. Now, this is roughly a 2.5-day walk, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed.

Briefly about the general area:
Blue Point Campground is a delightful local campground, and spots like Oak Flats are fine to stop by.
Be careful coming to the Sierra Madre, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Taking a little journey to close by Spanish Point is a good idea, and Lake Piru is a pleasant campground nearby. Don't leave Devil Canyon Trail without first paying a visit to Oak Flat Spring, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Piru Creek. So much entertaining stuff to do at Devil Canyon Trail, so little time. Fisher Spring is an inspiring place to go to while you're here, and Violin Summit is a great spot to stop at.
Get wet paddling on Piru Creek, and Big Oak Flat is a delightful site any time of year. That right there is a heap of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Sierra Madre has it all. Michael Creek is a magnificent place to have a look at, and hey, Agua Blanca Creek is a nice local stream.
