Not much precipitation falls here at Deep Creek Trail; the month with most of the rain is January; the driest month is July. Deep Creek Trail is a one trailhead wilderness hiking trail, so in and out is the way to backcountry trek it normally. Deep Creek Trail is 8 miles long it's
a mid length backcountry walk. At parts of the year this region sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This trek shouldn't take more than 7 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower
and some a bit faster. Keep in mind that this is a long wilderness trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. There are numerous great outdoors hiking trails in California, and each one is worth backcountry backpacking.
Briefly about the general area: Some close
by water includes Rush Creek, and Deep Creek Trail is a great location to camp, Cats Head Campground is a great location. All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back over and over. Everybody loves Bobs Flat, and a glorious site nearby
is Blue Canyon. Just can't get enough of Deep Creek Trail. Don't leave Deep Creek Trail without first paying a visit to Cole Spring. Soaproot Flat is a good place here at Deep Creek Trail, and you can stay the night at Oakie Bear Campground. Getting to Nutmeg Creek from Deep Creek Trail is painless; you can run the rapids of Big Creek Kings River Tributary.
