California hiking trails - Dan East Trail, Coast Ranges, Humboldt County

   
  There are numerous wilderness trails in California, and each one is pretty in its own way. This part of California is always a bliss to stop at during backcountry hiking season. Dan East Trail is not very near Eureka-Arcata-Fortuna at all, but many people like to backcountry trek here to be near the fresh air. There are so many backpacking and hiking trails in this area. This wilderness trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. This backcountry hike shouldn't take
    more than 3 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. There are many nice wilderness trails in California, and Dan East Trail in Humboldt County is one of them. At parts
of the year this neighborhood sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Hiking trails like this one here in the Coast Ranges are a really great way to spend quality time in the fresh air. This wilderness trail has a total elevation difference of 2,406 feet which is an average number. With its 3.2 miles of walking distance it's shorter than many backcountry hiking trails. Dan East Trail usually gets a great deal of rainfall; during the month of December you get the most  
rain around here; the driest month is July. During the summertime here at Dan East Trail, high temperatures mostly get into the 90's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Dan East Trail drop into the 30's. Different parts of Dan East Trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backcountry hiking trail. Even though this is not a very long hiking trail it's always pleasant to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. Dan East Trail is a very short hiking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this backpacking and hiking trail glorious for the average backcountry trekker looking for a cool adventure. Hitting the wilderness trails is always a cool thing to do, and Dan East Trail in Humboldt County, California is a tremendous location to go. Backcountry trekking in California never gets boring.

Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! The Coast Ranges is excellent! During your visit to Dan East Trail you'll meet some people from Eureka-Arcata-Fortuna for sure; camping at Slide Creek Campground is always a magnificent experience. A pleasant journey to Waterbarrel Opening is a good way to spend an afternoon.
Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Trinity River - South Fork; obviously Dan East Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth taking a look at. While you're here at Dan East Trail it's a good idea to stop by Smith Opening; Dan East Trail is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Blake Spring Campground is a pleasant local campground.
