The time needed for this hike is roughly 2.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This backcountry hiking trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out trek. This area does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Being 2.6 miles long it's a shorter type trek. Even though this is not a very long backpacking trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. This backcountry hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 1,319 feet, and that is about average. Dagger Flat Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole hiking trail.
