reach the 90's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 60's with temperatures at Cucamonga Peak Trail dipping down into the 40's throughout winter nights. Some parts of this backpacking trail are much higher up than other
parts of the backpacking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backpacking trail.
Briefly about the general area: Icehouse Saddle is a tremendous place to spend some time at, and Sheep Flat is a gorgeous
spot any time of year. Why not camp at Stone House Crossing Campground while you're here at Cucamonga Peak Trail; taking a little journey to nearby Buck Point is a perfect idea. This river is so good. Some of the water close by flows, like Lost Creek, and camping at Cucamonga
Peak Trail is glorious fun, Coldwater Campground is a glorious local campground. And that's not everything there is to do here in the San Gabriel Mountains. Telegraph Wash is a great spot to pop by. This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Dustin Spring is
always fun to check out, and places like Miners Bowl are delightful to check out. So much enjoyable stuff in the San Gabriel Mountains, just mind-blowing. Put some time aside to spend at Columbine Spring since you're here at Cucamonga Peak Trail, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Los Angeles-Long Beach-Santa Ana.
