California hiking trails - Crooked Tree Trail, Klamath Mountains, Lake County

   
  California is a magnificent place for outdoors folks. When was the last time you got out in the wilderness a bit? Crooked Tree Trail in Lake County, California is a really great site to spend some time. Here in California backcountry hiking is a splendid idea. Backcountry hiking trails like this one here in the Klamath Mountains are a really good way to spend quality time in the fresh air. Crooked Tree Trail is a wet place that gets much precipitation; the wettest month of the year is usually January, that's the one that rains the most while July is usually
    the driest month. Crooked Tree Trail has two trailheads, so backcountry backpacking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This great outdoors trail has a total elevation difference of 2,583 feet, and that
is higher than average. Summertime highs at Crooked Tree Trail commonly tend to be in the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Crooked Tree Trail. Now, this is roughly a 2.5-day backcountry walk, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. This backcountry hiking trail is a very long backcountry hiking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a splendid great outdoors trail for  
experienced walkers in wonderful shape. Keep in mind that this is a long hiking trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Crooked Tree Trail is 17.8 miles long; it's considered a longer backcountry trek. Every single California hiking trail is worth backcountry hiking. There are so many tremendous hiking trails for backcountry hiking in California, and Crooked Tree Trail in Lake County is one of them. Crooked Tree Trail is located a pretty lengthy trip from Clearlake, but backcountry trekking it is always enjoyable. Different parts of this backpacking and hiking trail are at very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the backpacking and hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. At parts of the year this area sees very little rain, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. This is a region covered with lots of great outdoors trails.

Briefly about the general area:
Mauser Glade is a great place to check out, and why not camp at Thistle Glade Campground while you're here at Crooked Tree Trail. So many fun things in the Klamath Mountains, just unbelievable. A great location for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Crooked Tree Trail is Eel River, and some glorious nature is available in Mendocino National Forest.
A tour to Skeleton Glade invigorates the soul, and a great place to explore is Low Gap. Twin Springs is an inspiring location to explore while here; camping is available at Lower Nye Campground. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Klamath Mountains. Getting to Cold Creek from Crooked Tree Trail is simple; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Big Spring.
This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Stony Creek; some close by water includes Barker Creek.
