Mountains are a really good way to spend quality time in nature. It is very dried out here at Copper Trail usually; throughout December this area sees the most rain; the driest month is July. This is one of a very small number of great outdoors hiking trails in this neighborhood.
| | This area does get very dry sometimes, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. High temperatures at Copper Trail during the summer months are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Copper Trail sink into the 20's. the short side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a wonderful great outdoors hiking trail for the average person looking for a wonderful adventure. There's not much difference in elevation along Copper Trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate
zones along your backcountry walk. Copper Trail is a two ended backcountry trail with two trailheads, so backpacking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Each backcountry trail in California has its own unique beauty. This walk shouldn't take more than 2.5
hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Being 2.8 miles long it's a shorter type backcountry walk. This backpacking trail is not that long but it's always good to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen.
Briefly
about the general area: There's so much to do here at Copper Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Tree of Heaven Campground is a wonderful place for that, and a good place for whitewater paddling is Klamath River. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the Siskiyou
Mountains will keep you coming back repeatedly. Copper Trail is good enough to spend more than a day at, Yreka RV Park is a good local campground; Bear Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at.
