At Coast Trail all through the summer months highs are in the 80's, and the night is slightly cooler of course, commonly in the 40's. A lot of rain falls at Coast Trail; the wettest month of the year is typically January, that's the one that rains the most while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. A journey to Muddy Hollow invigorates the soul, and camping at Coast Trail is magnificent fun, Coast Campground is a magnificent local campground. A forest close to Coast Trail is Jepson Memorial Grove, and Divide Meadow is a nice place to check out. Visit Santa Maria Creek while you're here at Coast Trail, and you don’t have to go far from Coast Trail to see the water at Bear Valley Dam. Sky Campground is a nice campground here, and if you want to hit the beach, Sculptured Beach is in the neighborhood. Put some time aside to spend at Alamere Falls while you're here at Coast Trail, and Santa Maria Beach is rather close by if you're in a beach type of mood. If you're here at Coast Trail, do take a tour to Point Resistance, and Coast Trail is in the vicinity of Bear Valley which is positively worth going to.
