California hiking trails - Castle Lake Trail, Siskiyou County

   
  Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in nature a bit, and if you happen to be in Siskiyou County of California, Castle Lake Trail is a nice local wilderness hiking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. There are hiking trails all over California, and one of these is Castle Lake Trail in Siskiyou County. Every single California hiking trail is gorgeous in its own way. The number of wilderness trails in this neighborhood is not very high. This hiking trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a great
    wilderness trail for experienced backcountry walkers in nice shape. This great outdoors hiking trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. The hiking trail stays roughly within the same
elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. It's a lengthy journey from Redding to Castle Lake Trail, but hiking along this wilderness hiking trail is very enjoyable. California is a great outdoors state. From a precipitation point of view Castle Lake Trail is a quite common place; January is the month that gets the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Sometimes this trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make  
a camp fire. Backcountry trekking in California is something that is always fun to do. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. The time needed for this backcountry hike is roughly 8.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This is a trail that is quite long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Summertime highs at Castle Lake Trail typically tend to be in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Castle Lake Trail dip into the 20's. The total elevation difference for this great outdoors hiking trail is 588 feet, and that is lower than average. Being 9.2 miles long; it's longer than many hiking trails.

Briefly about the general area:
Get dripping wet paddling on Sacramento River; Box Canyon is a magnificent place to have a look at. Don't forget to take a great little visit to Scott Camp Creek, and if you came to camp Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort is a good spot to do that.
So much fun stuff to do at Castle Lake Trail, so little time. A trip to Faery Falls will fill your spirit with great feelings, and do put some time aside to spend at Ney Springs if you're here at Castle Lake Trail. Soar down the rapids of Sacramento River in a kayak. There's so much to do here at Castle Lake Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Castle Lake Campground is a tremendous spot for that. Visit Castle Lake Creek while you're here at Castle Lake Trail; at Castle Lake Trail you always meet someone from Redding.
