California hiking trails - Castle Lake Trail, Siskiyou County

   
  Nice backpacking and hiking trails in California are in abundance, and Castle Lake Trail is one of them, and it's in Siskiyou County. If you happen to be in California, why not go backcountry trekking, it never gets boring. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, Castle Lake Trail in Siskiyou County, California is just the place. The amount of precipitation that falls at Castle Lake Trail is next to the national average; most of the rain falls during January while July is ordinarily the driest month. There are not too many wilderness hiking
    trails in this neighborhood. The total elevation difference for Castle Lake Trail is 588 feet which is lower than average. Castle Lake Trail is quite long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. You spend the whole walk in roughly the same elevation zone, so you get pretty
much the same conditions along the whole backcountry hiking trail. At parts of the year this neighborhood sees very little rain, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. The length of this backpacking trail is on the longer side having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a good wilderness hiking trail for experienced backcountry walkers in good shape. This hiking and backpacking trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end.  
Being 9.2 miles long; it's considered a longer walk. Castle Lake Trail is not very right next door to Redding at all, but when you walk it you're always having a splendid time. At Castle Lake Trail during the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 40's. For the duration of the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Castle Lake Trail. Every California backpacking and hiking trail has its own unique loveliness. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. You should count on this backcountry walk taking about 8.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. California has lots of outdoors things to do.

Briefly about the general area:
A quick trip to Castle Lake Creek in the neighborhood of Castle Lake Trail is a great idea, and during your tour here you'll meet some folks from Redding for sure. Drift down the rapids of Sacramento River in a kayak It's always fine to go to Ney Springs.
Paddling on Sacramento River is so much fun, and a pleasant site to camp here at Castle Lake Trail is Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort. Don't leave Castle Lake Trail without first paying a visit to Faery Falls, and camping at Castle Lake Campground is always a great experience.
Just can't get enough of Castle Lake Trail. Scott Camp Creek flows through this region, and Box Canyon is also a fine site to explore.
