California hiking trails - Burnside Lake Trail, Northern Sierra Nevada, Alpine County

   
  Backcountry trekking in California never gets boring. Wonderful backcountry trails in California are in abundance; Burnside Lake Trail in Alpine County is one of them. Burnside Lake Trail is positioned a pretty lengthy trip from Gardnerville Ranchos, but what a great place for backcountry hiking it is. Being 6.8 miles long it's a mid length hike. This backcountry hiking trail is a mid length backcountry hiking trail with very little uphill walking involved which makes it a tremendous hiking and backpacking trail for experienced backcountry walkers in
    good shape. Different parts of this trail are at very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the trail could be very different from other parts of it. High temperatures at Burnside Lake Trail all through the warm days of summer are in the 70's, and throughout the
night it cools down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Burnside Lake Trail. Hiking here in the Northern Sierra Nevada is the best way to enjoy these highlands. All the water falling down from the sky makes Burnside Lake Trail a wet place; January is when you get the most snow here while July is regularly the driest month. Each one of the many backcountry trails of California is gorgeous in its own way. This is a two-ended hiking and backpacking trail with two trailheads  
which means you have the option of backcountry hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. You should count on this backcountry hike taking about 5.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. At parts of the year this area sees very little rain, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. This is one of a very small number of hiking and backpacking trails in this vicinity. Keep in mind that this is a long hiking trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. California is a perfect location for outdoors folks. Hitting the trails is always a cool thing to do, and Burnside Lake Trail in Alpine County, California is just the place. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Burnside Lake Trail has a total elevation difference of 2,762 feet which is higher than average.

Briefly about the general area:
Visit Sawmill Creek since you're here at Burnside Lake Trail, and a great place for whitewater paddling is Carson River - East Fork. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. There's so much to do here at Burnside Lake Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Toiyabe Campground is a delightful place for that.
That right there is plenty of exciting things already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. Don't forget to take a pleasant little tour to Charity Valley Creek; get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Carson River - East Fork. Burnside Lake Trail is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Crystal Springs Campground is a tremendous local campground; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Soda Spring. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors fun stuff the area near Burnside Lake Trail has to offer. You'll meet a lot of folks from Gardnerville Ranchos here, and Charity Valley is a glorious site here at Burnside Lake Trail.
Near Burnside Lake Trail you hit upon great places like Millberry Canyon, and don't leave Burnside Lake Trail without first paying a visit to Grover Hot Springs.
