Burnside Lake Trail, California

This wilderness hiking trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the wilderness hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. The total elevation difference for this hiking and backpacking trail is 2,762 feet which is a higher than average number. This is a two-ended hiking and backpacking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. With its 6.8 miles of walking distance it's a mid length hike. This backcountry hike shouldn't take more than 5.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This is a long hiking trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. At parts of the year this area sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire.
