This is a two-ended backcountry hiking trail with two trailheads, so hiking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Bull Run Cattle Drive has a total elevation difference of 1,739 feet which is an average number. Bull Run Cattle Drive goes through some very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. Sometimes this trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. With its 7.2 miles of walking distance it's an average length backcountry hiking trail. You should count on this hike taking about 6.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Keep in mind that this is a long trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies.
