California hiking trails - Bowman Mountain Trail, Northern Sierra Nevada, Nevada County

   
  It's a long drive from Truckee-Grass Valley to Bowman Mountain Trail, but when you spend some time backcountry backpacking here you will feel like a whole new person. If you happen to be in California, why not go backcountry backpacking, it is a fine idea. Each one of the many trails of California is well worth a backcountry hike. Now this backcountry trail is pretty long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Through the warm days of summer at Bowman Mountain Trail temperatures are usually in the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures
    dip down into the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Bowman Mountain Trail dip into the 20's. This is a two-ended trail with two trailheads, so backpacking it one way is an option if
you can arrange for a ride back. Backcountry trails are great and plentiful in California, and one of these is Bowman Mountain Trail in Nevada County. With its 7.2 miles of walking distance it's a mid length hike. Sometimes this backcountry trail gets really dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. The backpacking and hiking trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. These wilderness trails here in the Northern Sierra Nevada  
are a very nice way to see these mountains. This walk shouldn't take more than 6.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and Bowman Mountain Trail in Nevada County, California is just the place. This wilderness trail is a mid length wilderness trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it an outstanding backcountry trail for experienced backcountry trekkers in splendid shape. This is a vicinity covered with lots of backcountry trails. The amount of precipitation that falls at Bowman Mountain Trail is in the vicinity of the national average; all through the month of January you get the most rain around here while July is usually the driest month. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. The total elevation difference for this trail is 1,277 feet which is an average number. This part of California is always a pleasure to explore during backcountry trekking season.

Briefly about the general area:
Poison Canyon is a magnificent place to stop by nearby. There's so much to do here at Bowman Mountain Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Lindsey Campground is a glorious spot for that. A great place for whitewater paddling right next door to Bowman Mountain Trail is Fordyce Creek, and while you're here, you could pop by South Fork Canyon Creek.
Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A pleasant visit to Loney Meadow is a pleasant way to spend an afternoon; Bowman Mountain Trail is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, McMurray Campground is a brilliant local campground. Yuba River - South Fork is a nice whitewater spot close to Bowman Mountain Trail, and it's a nice idea to visit Jackson Creek. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Bowman Mountain Trail is unbeatable! At Bowman Mountain Trail you always meet someone from Truckee-Grass Valley.
