There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end which means you have the option of trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. This trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. There's not much difference in elevation along Bootjack Trail, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole hiking and backpacking trail. You should count on this backcountry trek taking about 2 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Bootjack Trail is 2.2 miles long it's shorter than many hiking and backpacking trails. Even though this is not a very long trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. The total elevation difference for this backcountry trail is 950 feet which is lower than average.
