Bluford Trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. This backpacking and hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 2,510 feet which is a higher than average number. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more than 5.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Being 6 miles long it's an average length backpacking trail. Bluford Trail is not that long but it's always great to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. Sometimes this hiking trail gets really dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Different parts of this backpacking trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations.
