during the days of summer highs are in the 90's while overnight lows are frequently in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Blake Trail temperatures dip to the 30's. There are numerous great outdoors trails in California,
and each one has something unique to offer. Some parts of this wilderness trail are much higher up than other parts of the wilderness trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the wilderness trail.
Briefly about the
general area: If you come at the right time of year, Trinity River - South Fork offers some pleasant whitewater; a wonderful place nearby is Lucy Gulch. So much cool stuff to do in the Coast Ranges, not sufficient time. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for
you then we recommend Mad River, and you'll meet a lot of people from Eureka-Arcata-Fortuna here. Pistol Spring is a wonderful place to stop by while you're at Blake Trail. There's so much to do here at Blake Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Slide Creek Campground
is a brilliant spot for that. Mud Spring is a glorious local attraction, and it's a fine idea to stop by East Creek. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things at Blake Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Blake Trail has to offer,
you can camp at Blake Spring Campground, and Day Opening is a striking place any time of year. This place, the Coast Ranges, has so much outdoors entertaining things. Carson Opening is a great location to stretch your legs a bit, and don't forget to take a nice little visit to Owl Creek.
