California hiking trails - Black Mountain Trail, Southern Sierra Nevada, Tulare County

   
  Black Mountain Trail is not very near Visalia-Porterville at all, but it is a really great hiking trail. There are many delightful wilderness hiking trails in California, and one of these is Black Mountain Trail in Tulare County. Every wilderness hiking trail in California is charming in its own way. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end which means you have the option of backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Being 12.6 miles long; it's considered a longer hike. A visit to California is not complete
    without some hiking. Keep in mind that this is a long hiking trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Now, this is roughly a 2-day hike, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. This area does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions
before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Different parts of this wilderness hiking trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. The amount of rain that falls at Black Mountain Trail is close to the national average; January is when you get the most rain here; July is when it's the driest. The length of Black Mountain Trail is on the longer side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a perfect hiking trail for experienced trekkers in pleasant  
shape. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Time to get out, and breathe some fresh air, and Black Mountain Trail in Tulare County, California is the outdoors at its best. Here in the delightful state of California trekking is so much fun. The hiking and backpacking trails of the Southern Sierra Nevada are a really delightful way to spend quality time in the great outdoors. High temperatures at Black Mountain Trail throughout the warm months are in the 90's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Black Mountain Trail. Black Mountain Trail has a total elevation difference of 4,286 feet which is a higher than average number. There are not too many hiking trails in this area.

Briefly about the general area:
A pleasant visit to Joaquin Flat is a fine way to spend an afternoon, and soar down the rapids of Dry Meadow Creek in a kayak.
If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Southern Sierra Nevada. Since you're here at Black Mountain Trail why not visit Coffee Canyon; get wet paddling on Kern River. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Southern Sierra Nevada. Stay the night at Painted Rock Campground It's always splendid to stop at Crystal SPring. Coffee Camp Campground is a glorious campground nearby, and needless to say South Fork Middle Fork Tule River is a gorgeous stream that is worth a visit.
If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Black Mountain Trail. Take a side spree to North Fork Middle Fork Tule River; a forest nearby is Black Mountain Grove. Don't leave Black Mountain Trail without first paying a visit to Ward Spring, and since you're here at Black Mountain Trail it's a magnificent idea to visit Mahogany Flat.
