    long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Black Mountain Trail is 12.6 miles long; it's a long backcountry hiking trail. You'll have to go far from Visalia-Porterville to get to Black Mountain Trail, but what a brilliant location for backcountry hiking it is. Black Mountain
Trail is a two ended wilderness trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can walk it just one way. Backcountry trekking here in the Southern Sierra Nevada is the best way to enjoy these hills. Black Mountain Trail has a total elevation difference of 4,286 feet which is higher than average. This is one of a very small number of trails in this region. From a precipitation point of view Black Mountain Trail is a reasonably typical place; during January this vicinity sees the most rain; July is the month with the least moisture.  
Black Mountain Trail is a very long trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough trail for advanced walkers looking for an outstanding challenge. Some parts of this backcountry hiking trail are much higher up than other parts of the backcountry hiking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backcountry hiking trail. This trek should take you about 2 days, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Backcountry backpacking here in California is always an enjoyable thing to do. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Black Mountain Trail. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. For the period of the wintertime highs are typically in the 50's; nighttime lows in the 30's for Black Mountain Trail.

Briefly about the general area:
Coffee Canyon is a pleasant location to spend some time at, and Dry Meadow Creek is a great whitewater spot nearby.
If you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Black Mountain Trail. A spree to Black Mountain Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Ward Spring; there's a forest here called Black Mountain Grove. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Southern Sierra Nevada. A glorious place for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Black Mountain Trail is Kern River; Black Mountain Trail is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Painted Rock Campground is a wonderful local campground. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Crystal SPring, and you should absolutely dedicate some time to Mahogany Flat since you're here at Black Mountain Trail.
You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Southern Sierra Nevada. Take a side journey to North Fork Middle Fork Tule River, and do set aside some time for Joaquin Flat since you're here at Black Mountain Trail. Visit South Fork Middle Fork Tule River since you're here at Black Mountain Trail. There's so much to do here at Black Mountain Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Coffee Camp Campground is a good place for that.
