California hiking trails - Big Spring Trail, Northern Sierra Nevada, Placer County

A lengthy trip divides Gardnerville Ranchos from Big Spring Trail, but it is a fun spot to backcountry walk. There is only one trailhead, so you'll be backcountry backpacking it in and back out. Summer at Big Spring Trail arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and during summer
    nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Big Spring Trail. Big Spring Trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens.
Being 2.2 miles long it's shorter than many hiking trails. This backpacking trail has a total elevation difference of 289 feet which is a lower than average number. You should count on this backcountry hike taking about 2 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Big Spring Trail gets a lot of water; January is the wettest month with most rain while July is mostly the driest month. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This part of California is always a diversion to have a look at during  
backcountry backpacking season. This is one of many trails in the surrounding area. Sometimes this great outdoors hiking trail gets really dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and Big Spring Trail in Placer County, California is just the spot. You spend the whole trek in roughly the same elevation zone, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your trek. This wilderness hiking trail is on the short side having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a fine trail for the average person looking for a fine adventure. Trails like this one here in the Northern Sierra Nevada are the best way to enjoy these mountaintops.

Having a fine time in the Northern Sierra Nevada is uncomplicated. Camping is available at Bear Creek Campground; some close by water includes Whisky Creek. A journey to Big Spring will fill your soul with great feelings.
If you came for an overnight stay Pleasant Boat-In Campground is a great place to camp, and Grouse Canyon is another fine place to visit nearby.
