California hiking trails - Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail, Coast Ranges, Trinity County

   
  California is a nice outdoors state. Every California hiking trail is well worth a walk. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and if you happen to be in Trinity County of California, Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail is a good local great outdoors trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Being 7.4 miles long it's a mid length backcountry hike. This is one of a very small number of hiking trails in this region. You'll need to go far from Ukiah to get to Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail, but many people like to backcountry hike here
    to be close to the great outdoors. Now this wilderness hiking trail is pretty long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. High temperatures at Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail through the days of summer are in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. All through the wintertime the
highs are commonly in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail. If you happen to be in California, why not go hiking, it is the great thing to do. The delightful backpacking and hiking trails of the Coast Ranges are a nice way to explore these peaks. The length of this backpacking and hiking trail is about average with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough hiking trail for advanced hikers looking for a magnificent challenge. There's not much difference in elevation along Ben Duncan  
Mailbox Trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry hike. The total elevation difference for this wilderness trail is 1,303 feet which is an average number. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail is a wet spot that gets a large amount of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is December, and July meanwhile is the driest month. This is a two-ended wilderness trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. The time needed for this walk is roughly 6.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Great outdoors trails for hiking, and backpacking can be found all over California; one of them being Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail in Trinity County. This wilderness hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out.

Bailey Canyon Campground is a delightful campground nearby. If you came for an overnight stay Fern Campground is a tremendous spot to camp, and Schoolhouse Spring is always fun to check out.
Now, you may assume that's heaps but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here in the Coast Ranges. It's a glorious idea to pop by Gypsy Creek, it's near Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail, and a pleasant spot is Hoaglin Valley. Why not go to nearby Cottonwood Creek while you're here at Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail, and get your heart pumping on the pleasant whitewater of Eel River - North Fork.
