This is a two-ended backcountry hiking trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can trek it just one way. Bear Wallow Trail is quite long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. This wilderness trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Different parts of Bear Wallow Trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the wilderness trail.
