The trail requires repair. Anyone who wants to assist in volunteering on restoring the trail, please email me at fred@sgmtrailbuilders.org Says Fredric L. Rice
Some parts of this backcountry trail are much higher up than other parts of the backcountry trail, and that means that some parts of the backcountry trail could be very different from other parts of it. Bear Creek Trail has a total elevation difference of 2,934 feet, and that is higher than average. Of course, this is an overnight trek, 2.5 days normally, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. Bear Creek Trail is a two ended backpacking and hiking trail with two trailheads, so backcountry trekking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. This backcountry trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This is a backcountry trail that is quite long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Bear Creek Trail is 17.4 miles long; it's considered a longer hike.
