California hiking trails - Baldy Trail, Marin County

   
  Baldy Trail is a long drive away from Santa Rosa-Petaluma, but when you backcountry walk it you're always having a fine time. This part of California is always a bliss to check out during backcountry trekking season. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and Baldy Trail in Marin County, California is a fine selection. With its 11.6 miles of walking distance; it's considered a longer walk. This backcountry hike should take you about 1.5 days, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. This backcountry
    trail sometimes gets very dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. There's not much difference in elevation along Baldy Trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. Keep
in mind that this is a long backcountry trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Baldy Trail usually gets a large amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is regularly January, that's the one that rains the most; July on the other hand is the driest. The length of Baldy Trail is on the longer side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough backcountry hiking trail for advanced backcountry trekkers looking for a good challenge. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go.

For the period of the months of summer highs here at Baldy Trail reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 50's while Baldy Trail night low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 30's.

Briefly about the general area:
Muddy Hollow is a wonderful location any time of year. You believe that's enough? Just getting warmed up. On a delightful day you can check out Wildcat Beach right next door to Baldy Trail, and getting to Alamere Creek from Baldy Trail is trouble-free.
If you came for an overnight stay Glen Campground is a pleasant location to camp; Millers Point is very near and is a magnificent place to stop by. A pleasant trip to Divide Meadow is a perfect way to spend an afternoon, and if you have time to spare, Point Reyes National Seashore is a national park worth visiting. Bear Valley is near Baldy Trail and is absolutely a good site to take a look at, and Alamere Falls is always fun to check out.
Olema Ranch Campgrounds is a delightful campground nearby, and time spent at Kelham Beach is always magnificent. Why not take a look at Bear Valley Dam since you're here, and why not take a little journey to Coast Creek while you're here.
