This great outdoors hiking trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of backcountry backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Alder Creek Trail is not that long but it's always fine to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. This neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. You should count on this walk taking about 4.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Being 5.4 miles long it's an average length backpacking and hiking trail. Different parts of Alder Creek Trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backpacking and hiking trail. Alder Creek Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,517 feet, and that is about average.
