California hiking trails - Alamar Trail, Sierra Madre, Santa Barbara County

   
  Alamar Trail is a long tour away from Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta, but it is an enjoyable place to backcountry walk. Backcountry hiking in California is always an exciting thing to do. The length of this hiking trail is on the longer side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough backpacking trail for advanced walkers looking for an excellent challenge. Alamar Trail has two trailheads, so backcountry trekking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. In California you never run out of outdoors fun. Not much rainfall falls here at Alamar Trail; the month of February is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is when it's the driest. The lovely hiking trails of the Sierra Madre are a very perfect way to see these peaks.

You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Alamar Trail. At Alamar Trail you always meet someone from Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta, and camping at Bill Farris Campground is always a great experience.
The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Choke Cherry Spring, and since you're here at Alamar Trail it's a glorious idea to have a look at Santa Barbara Potrero. Yeah, come up here to the Sierra Madre for a great time. A pleasant trip to Logan Potrero is a good way to spend an afternoon, and don't leave Alamar Trail without first paying a visit to Chokecherry Spring. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. Puerta Suela is a magnificent place to look at; Alamar Trail is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Bear Campground is a fine local campground.
