Different parts of this backcountry hiking trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. Alamar Trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this wilderness hiking trail glorious for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Briefly about the general area: If you came to camp Bear Campground is a fine site to do that, and don't leave Alamar Trail without first paying a visit to Choke Cherry Spring. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a magnificent time here at Alamar Trail. Nearby Puerta Suela is a brilliant place to go if you're at Alamar Trail; Santa Barbara Potrero is a wonderful place any time of year. Be careful coming to the Sierra Madre, you might not ever want to return back home again. Logan Potrero is a great place to check out, and camping at Bill Farris Campground is always a good experience. A tour to Chokecherry Spring will fill your spirit with perfect feelings, and there are plenty of people from Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta here at Alamar Trail.
