There is only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out backcountry trek. This wilderness trail has a total elevation difference of 1,624 feet which is an average number. Aguanga Trail is 5.2 miles long it's an average length trail. Sometimes this hiking trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Different parts of this trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. You should count on this trek taking about 4.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. This is not a very long hiking trail but it's always nice to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen.
