wilderness trail of magnificent length with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough trail for advanced backcountry walkers looking for an outstanding challenge. Of course, this is an overnight walk, 2 days normally, so it's a good thing if your backpack
is big enough to do the job. Woodchute Trail gets very little rain; the month with most of the rain is August; June is when it's the driest. Woodchute Trail is quite long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Woodchute Trail is a one trailhead backcountry hiking trail,
so you'll be backcountry backpacking it in and back out. While visiting this area in Arizona it's an excellent idea to go backpacking too. This is one of a very small number of trails in this neighborhood. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping.
Briefly about
the general area: Camping is available at Camelot RV Center, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Verde River. Camping at Mingus Mountain Campground is always a splendid experience, and if you feel like a little
side journey, try Haywood Canyon. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Woodchute Trail. Verde River is a tremendous whitewater spot in close proximity to Woodchute Trail; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Red Seep Spring. You'll meet a lot of folks from Prescott here; a visit to Elderberry Spring will fill your soul with pleasant feelings.
