an average amount of climbing distance which makes it an outstanding backpacking trail for the average person looking for an outstanding adventure. Tiptop Trail is pretty dried up usually; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is June. Tiptop Trail
has a total elevation difference of 1,350 feet which is about average. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in location. Even though this is not a very long wilderness trail it's always brilliant to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what
could happen. This is an area covered with lots of backpacking trails. At parts of the year this vicinity sees very little rain, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go.
Briefly about the general area: You definitely must adore Tiptop
Trail. Stay the night at Kentuck Spring Campground; a short journey to Sullivan Spring is always worthwhile. Not far from Tiptop Trail you acquire some pleasant water scenery at Horsethief Dam; Tiptop Trail is a good site to visit for more than one day, Hazlett Hollow Campground
is a good site to camp nearby. Some of the water close by flows, like Jim Creek; Horsethief Basin is a beautiful spot any time of year. A brilliant spot near Tiptop Trail is Joes Gulch, and Jim Creek Spring is a delightful place to explore while you're at Tiptop Trail.
