Taylor Cabin Trail is a one trailhead great outdoors hiking trail, so you'll be backcountry backpacking it in and back out. With its 4.8 miles of walking distance it's a mid length hike. Different parts of Taylor Cabin Trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backpacking and hiking trail. The total elevation difference for this great outdoors hiking trail is 1,794 feet which is an average number. You should count on this hike taking about 4 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This backpacking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Taylor Cabin Trail is not that long but it's always pleasant to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen.
