Sometimes this wilderness trail gets really dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. High temperatures at Shake Tree Trail during the days of summer are in the 100's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 50's; overnight lows in the 30's for Shake Tree Trail. Shake Tree Trail is 10.2 miles long; it's longer than  
many hiking trails. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and Shake Tree Trail in Gila County, Arizona is such a perfect spot. The hiking trails of the Mogollon Rim Mountains are the best way to enjoy these peaks. Shake Tree Trail gets very little rain; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is June. Shake Tree Trail is a one trailhead hiking trail, so in and out is the way to trek it normally. A great site to camp here at Shake Tree Trail is Oxbow Estates RV Park; East Verde River has a nice whitewater paddling spot nearby.
So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Mogollon Rim Mountains, not enough time. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Shake Tree Trail. Since you're here at Shake Tree Trail why not explore Shake Tree Canyon, and why not camp at Jakes Corner RV Park if you're here at Shake Tree Trail. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Tonto Creek, and it's a delightful idea to take a look at Center Creek.
Why not stop at nearby Alder Creek since you're here at Shake Tree Trail; don't leave Shake Tree Trail without first paying a visit to Garden Spring.
