The time needed for this backcountry hike is roughly 7.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This backcountry hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Please follow all local
rules about fires and camping. Now this backcountry hiking trail is pretty long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Different parts of this trail are at very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the trail could be very different from other parts of it.

Briefly about the general area: There are some splendid whitewater spots on Tonto Creek, and a brilliant forest close by is Tonto National Forest. A journey to Ballantine Canyon is always fun; whitewater paddling is
not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Verde River. Just can't get enough of the Mogollon Rim Mountains. Tonto Creek Trail Adult RV Park is a great campground nearby; Bull Basin is a tremendous spot. Don't leave Pine Mountain Trail without first paying a visit
to Mountain Spring; Little Pine Flat is a brilliant site to check out. And if that's not sufficient there's lots more entertaining things to do in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. What a place this is for outdoors people. If you came for an overnight stay Jakes Corner RV Park is a delightful place to camp It's always nice to pop by Coyote Spring.
