Pine Flat Trail is a two ended wilderness hiking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. This neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Being 8.2 miles long it's a mid length trek. This backcountry trek shouldn't take more than 7 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Keep in mind that this is a long hiking trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Pine Flat Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your trek. Pine Flat Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,227 feet, and that is about average.
