which makes this hiking and backpacking trail delightful for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. There are numerous hiking trails in Arizona, and each one has its own character. At parts of the year this region sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions
before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This is one of a very small number of hiking and backpacking trails in this neighborhood. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Backcountry hiking trails like this one here in the Mogollon Rim Mountains

Briefly about the general area: So many fun things in the Mogollon Rim Mountains, just remarkable. Houston Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping at, and Felton Spring is a scenic place to have a
look at while you're at Old Mail Trail. Places like McDonald Pocket are great to pop by; there's whitewater on Tonto Creek for all you adrenaline people. Neal Spring is always fun to check out, and if you're here why not pop by Brushy Hollow. Life's too short to enjoy all the
fun things in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. Curry Basin is a wonderful place any time of year. There's so much to do here at Old Mail Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Oxbow Estates RV Park is a tremendous place for that. Having a great time at Old Mail Trail is uncomplicated.
Stay the night at Kokopellis's Retreat, and let's not forget Sand Wash which is a stream that you may bump into during your stay.
