This hike shouldn't take more than 8.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 4,447 feet which is higher than average. With its 10 miles of walking distance; it's considered a longer hike. Old Kaibab Trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be trekking it in and back out. Some parts of Old Kaibab Trail are much higher up than other parts of the great outdoors trail, and that means that some parts of the great outdoors trail could be very different from other parts of it. Old Kaibab Trail is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. This backpacking trail sometimes gets very dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go.
