Arizona hiking trails - Mooney Trail, Yavapai County

   
  There are plenty of trails in Arizona; each one of them has its own character. There are many perfect trails in Arizona; one of them being Mooney Trail in Yavapai County. Here in the perfect state of Arizona backpacking is a fine idea. It's a long trip from Prescott to Mooney Trail, but backcountry backpacking it is always amusing. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This area does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Mooney Trail
    is a location that is rather arid regularly; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and June is the month with the least moisture. Through the warm months at Mooney Trail temperatures are commonly in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The
winter comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Mooney Trail are in the 20's. Mooney Trail goes through some very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the hiking and backpacking trail. Mooney Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,852 feet which is an average number. Mooney Trail is a hiking trail of great length having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough backcountry trail for advanced hikers looking for a magnificent challenge.  
While visiting this vicinity in Arizona it's a glorious idea to go backcountry trekking too. Of course, this is an overnight backcountry trek, 1.5 days normally, so it's a glorious thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. Now this backpacking and hiking trail is pretty long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can trek it just one way. Being 12 miles long; it's longer than many hiking and backpacking trails. This is just one of a large number of backcountry trails in this region. Put on your backcountry backpacking shoes, and hit the wilderness hiking trail, Mooney Trail in Yavapai County, Arizona is a glorious location to go.

Briefly about the general area:
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Oak Creek, and don't leave Mooney Trail without first paying a visit to Bunker Hill Spring. It's a good idea to explore Cedar Creek, it's right next door to Mooney Trail, and Mooney Trail is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Sedona RV Resort is a glorious local campground.
A pleasant tour to Taylor Basin is a great way to spend an afternoon, and a perfect place to camp here at Mooney Trail is Sunrise Resorts Of Arizona. Montezuma Castle National Monument is a perfect national park, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Sycamore Spring.
While staying at Mooney Trail you could always explore Mooney Canyon, and there's whitewater on Verde River for all you thrill seekers.
