Arizona hiking trails - Long Canyon Trail, Yavapai County

   
  There are many glorious backcountry hiking trails in Arizona; among these are Long Canyon Trail in Yavapai County. A lengthy drive separates Prescott from Long Canyon Trail, but backcountry backpacking is such a fun thing to do, and this is a great site to do that. In Arizona you never run out of outdoors fun. Now, this is roughly a 2-day backcountry trek, so it's an excellent thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. Being 14.6 miles long; it's considered a longer backcountry trek. Long Canyon Trail gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation;
    March is the wettest month with most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and Long Canyon Trail in Yavapai County, Arizona is the fresh air at its best. Long Canyon Trail
has a total elevation difference of 2,092 feet which is an average number. Long Canyon Trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this backpacking and hiking trail fine for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Some parts of Long Canyon Trail are much higher up than other parts of the backpacking trail, and that means that some parts of the backpacking trail could be very different from other parts of it. Keep in mind that this is a long trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Please follow all local  
rules about fires and camping. Sometimes this trail gets really dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. For the period of the summertime months highs here at Long Canyon Trail get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 50's while Long Canyon Trail overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 20's. Here in Arizona trekking is something that is always fun to do. Every single Arizona backcountry hiking trail has its own unique loveliness. This is a one trailhead trail, so you're looking at an in and out walk. There are so many backpacking and hiking trails in this area.

Briefly about the general area:
Soda Spring is an inspiring spot to have a look at while here, and there's whitewater on Wet Beaver Creek for all you adrenaline people. Roundup Basin is a perfect place to check out; a short journey to Lander Spring is always worthwhile.
Long Canyon is a tremendous spot to spend some time at, and if you're here, you could stop at Walker Creek. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things at Long Canyon Trail. Walker Basin is a scenic place any time of year; a delightful site to camp here at Long Canyon Trail is Clear Creek Campground.
A tour to Montezuma Castle National Monument is recommended; why not stop at nearby Spring Creek if you're here at Long Canyon Trail. Camping at Beaver Creek Campground is always a glorious experience, and get your heart pumping on the splendid whitewater of Beaver Creek.
